Before the Memories (“we”) makes interactive invitations: a host customises an invite, shares a link, and their guests reply. This page explains what we keep, why, who helps us run the service, and how to have your information deleted. Questions: support@centricedge.co.za.
What we keep
- Your account. Your email address, so we can send your sign-in code. If you continue with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us; we use the email address to sign you in.
- Passkeys, if you add one. A passkey’s public key, the name it shows on your Account page (like “iPhone”), and when it was added and last used. Your face, fingerprint or screen lock is checked by your own device and never reaches us.
- Google’s sign-in button. Where we offer “Continue with Google” (the sign-in page, and the sign-in step when you send an invite), the page loads Google’s sign-in script from Google to show Google’s own button, so Google can see that page visit. Nothing is shared with us until you choose Google and pick an account. Other pages don’t load it. Google may use its own cookies inside its button and sign-in window; those are Google’s, not ours, and Google’s own privacy policy covers what Google does.
- Your invites. The details you type into an invite (names, dates, venue, wording, the plan) and whether it is a draft or sent.
- Your guests’ replies. When a guest replies to one of your invites: the name they give, whether they are coming, and any details the invite asks for (for example the number of guests, dietary needs, a song request or a note), with the time of the reply.
- On your device. Your browser keeps your sign-in and your unfinished invite edits in its own storage so you don’t lose them. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don’t run analytics.
Why we keep it
- To sign you in and show you your invites and the replies to them.
- To show your guests the invite you made, and to deliver their replies to you, on the site, by email, or both, as you choose.
- To keep the service working and secure.
- To run the service and help with problems. The person who runs Before the Memories can see each account’s email address and when it signed up and last signed in, its invites (opened as guests see them), and how many replies each invite has had. They don’t see who replied or what guests wrote.
We do not sell your information, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Guests
If you reply to an invite, your reply goes to the host who sent it. The host decides what their invite asks and can see and delete your reply. To have a reply removed, ask the host, or email us and we’ll help.
Who helps us run the service
- Supabase stores accounts, invites and replies (servers in the European Union, Ireland) and handles sign-in.
- Cloudflare hosts the website and the invites.
- Resend sends sign-in codes and, if you choose, emails your guests’ replies to you.
- Google provides “Continue with Google” sign-in (its button and sign-in window) and the place search when you type a venue.
They only process information to provide these services to us.
How long we keep it
Invites and their replies stay until you delete them; deleting an invite deletes its replies. Your account stays until you ask us to delete it, which also deletes your invites and their replies.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by emailing support@centricedge.co.za. Where the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) or a similar law applies to you, you also have the rights it gives you, including complaining to the Information Regulator.
Changes
If we change this policy we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
